September 2010 Budget Recap

*NOTE: This budget is for shopping/food/gas only, or expense that I can control fully. I’m not including fixed expenses (rent, utilities, medical bills) because they’re fixed and honestly pretty boring to talk about. My TOTAL spending is not reflected in this budget *

Blown Budgets:

1. Food and Dining

2. Groceries

Note: Groceries are within the “Food in Dining” Parent category

Okay this is a weird month for budgeting because I was away in Japan for two weeks. I tried to tally up my spending while I was there, but I realized after keeping all of my receipts that I couldn’t read them! They were all in Japanese.. DOH. silly me. Plus I shared a lot of my spending money buying my sister things like food and transportation and shopping. On top of that, I withdrew money from the ATM at two different conversion rates during the trip so that caused more confusion with my budgeting.

So I’m just going to add my overall withdrawals to my $535 budget total and just leave it in the red.

I withdrew a LOT of money while in Japan.

ATM Withdrawals: –$1,428.19
ATM Fees: -$20

TOTAL: -$1448.19

Overall budget:

The Verdict?

Well, the Japan trip was very expensive. And if I had to do it over again, I wouldn’t change a thing. I had no doubt that I’d be in the red prior to the trip anyway, haha. Vacations can do that to you.
