Crossroads Clearance Finds (and A Few Other Goodies)

I found this BCBGMAXAZRIA quilted jacket for $13.25 on clearance at Crossroads.  (Retailed for $168 at Nordstrom! It looks so much better on the model… lol) I know it looks terrible on the hanger but I don’t think it’s meant to be a fancy piece.  It is SO SOFT!  I love it so much… I think its going to have to replace one of my worn out Forever 21 jersey zip jackets.

My second Crossroads clearance find was this Forever 21 (Twelve by Twelve) Origami top for $5.25.  It used to retail for $32.

I have always loved this top… I saw it on a friend at a wedding years ago in a pretty mocha color.  I found it a few times in the Forever 21 store but I didn’t have the heart to pay over $30 for it.  But $5.25 I can do!

A pair of white legging jeans has been on my wishlist for some time.  I tried out the Old Navy Rockstar legging jeans but they felt a little bit itchy and the fit wasn’t very good on me.  I took a gamble with this pair on Ebay for $32 with free shipping.  I’m quite partial to Gap Legging jeans.. I probably own about 7 pairs now.  Eeek!

I’m fairly sure this is last year’s spring model, with thinner material than this year’s spring line.  I checked yesterday at the Gap and indeed the material is much thicker now.  This is a cropped style which fortunately is the perfect ankle length for me (I’m 5’1″).  I’m usually a size 00R/24 in Gap legging jeans and this is the only one that is a little bit tight.  I think it’ll stretch out though with wear.

I also got this Julep maven nail box in the mail (I got it for free with referral)… with my very first magnetic polish!  I haven’t used it yet but I’m pretty excited.  The color is a bit too dark for me to try in the spring/summer but maybe curiosity will get the best of me.

And I got a new dog!  Just kidding.  Buddy got his first professional doggy haircut of the year!  But Buddy does look very different now.

Speaking of retail clearance… When I first walk in I make a beeline to the clearance section.  So in effect, I check out the clearance prices and then view full priced merchandise thereafter.  It’s a little mental trick to stop myself from buying full price, because the difference between clearance and retail prices is a bit of a shock.  It doesn’t always work but I feel that it helps most of the time.  Am I crazy to do this?  Do you have any shopping strategies like I do?
